Sadly most loan officers and Realtors don't understand the ins and outs of VA Mortgage loans. It's not a difficult process but it is different from other loan types.
It's a program that's very misunderstood in the marketplace. Some bad information can really mess you up!

Other Mortgages Offered
FHA mortgages are great for borrowers who want a low down payment and more lenient credit standards. Our minimum credit score for FHA financing is 580.
USDA mortgages allow borrowers to buy property in the USDA approved lending area (typically in the country) to buy property with zero money down.
Conventional mortgages from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac allow borrowers with a score of 620 or higher and some money in the bank to get great rates and terms.
The 203k program allows borrowers to purchase or refinance a home and roll the rehab costs into the mortgage. We offer both the limited program and full 203k program. This can also be combined with the HUD $100 down program for foreclosed homes. We also offer the Fannie Mae version of this program called Fannie Mae Homestyle. Fannie Mae's program is a lot better for borrowers who are renting out the home or have student loan debt.
Jumbo mortgages are for borrowers who need to borrow over the Conventional lending limit (currently $510,400 in Ohio).
We have very few overlays on our mortgage programs. This means we are able to approve more people than our competitors can!
